Did you know that we have trails that lead you beyond Winterthur’s historic garden? Explore some of our most popular trails with guided tours exclusively for members. See preserved woodlands, meadows, farmscapes, and beautiful vistas that overlook the Brandywine Valley as your guide points out some fun facts and tidbits along the way. Members only. Members free. To ensure a safe experience and comply with reopening regulations mandated by the state of Delaware, tour capacity will be limited and advance registration is required. Visitors and staff must wear face coverings and maintain a social distance of six feet apart during the walk. Reservations required. Register online.

Wood Turning Demo in store

Stop by the front of the Museum Store to watch Ron Brown as he demonstrates the extraordinary craftsmanship behind wood turning by creating an ornament out of wood. Be sure to stop in our store to take advantage or your Member double discount and purchase one of his beautifully crafted bowls, created out of Winterthur wood. Registration not required.

Ruth Wales du Pont: Vivacious Social figure, Talented Musician, and Hostess of Four Houses — Virtual Lecture

Drawing on photos and albums in the Winterthur Archives, Estate Historian Jeff Groff will dive into the story of Ruth Wales du Pont and the four houses she managed as hostess; Winterthur, the Chestertown House in Southampton on Long Island, the grand apartment at 280 Park Avenue in Manhattan, and a compound of houses in Boca Grande Florida.
