Investigate life as a woman in the 18th and early 19th centuries through objects that reveal the roles they played in the home, in the Revolution, in society, and as mothers with Ellery Coleman, tour program assistant. Examine household items such as butter molds, purses, and jewelry, plus portraits, political cartoons, games, and children’s miniatures. Some objects belonged to specific women with biographies to explore; others had anonymous owners and represent many women’s experiences. Registration required by May 6. Members only; Members free. Lecture followed by a Q&A.
