Meet the Curators in Open for Business: Photography, Trade, and Self-Image, 1870–1950
This University of Delaware student-curated exhibit examines how photography helped small business owners to advertise and represent their shops, goods, and workers. Student curators Vivien Barnett and Carolanne Deal will be on hand to discuss their exhibit. Art Conservation graduate student, Annabelle Camp will also share her expertise on caring for and preserving photographs.

Lecture: "From Winterthur to the White House: How H.F. du Pont and Jacqueline Kennedy Became Tastemakers to the Nation"
In 1961, First Lady Jacqueline Kennedy called upon Winterthur founder Henry Francis du Pont to serve as the Chairman of her newly formed Fine Arts Committee for the White House. Together, they set upon an aggressive public and private campaign to transform the interiors of the president's house from department-store dowdy, to museum-quality showcases of American history and decorative arts. Elaine Rice Bachmann, co-author of Designing Camelot: The Kennedy White House Restoration will present this illustrated lecture. Members free. Members may bring up to two nonmembers guest, $15 per guest.

Library Open House
Members will have the opportunity to view four tables filled with librarians’ favorite items including the hand-written letters from Jacqueline Kennedy to H.F. du Pont. Be sure to visit the Library exhibit: “May I Have Your Autograph?” featuring Autographs from historical figures before you stop in the library.

Members are free. Reservations for lecture are required. Additional charges and restrictions may apply for nonmembers. To make reservations call 302.888.4600.

Sunday, December 7, 10:00 am-1:00 pm

Celebrate the start of the winter season with us on December 7 and take a special garden tram ride to Enchanted Woods, where you can explore, play, and make a birdseed ornament craft. Members free, free with admission. Trams will run every 20 minutes.

yogaWellness at Winterthur

Wellness at Winterthur is an exclusive Members-only program that includes yoga classes and wellness walks.  In addition, Members are encouraged to follow their own wellness journey.  A Winterthur Membership conveys the benefit of year-round, dawn-to-dusk access to miles of paths and trails on the nearly 1,000-acre Winterthur estate.
