WINTERTHUR, DE (July 3, 2023) – Antiques, home décor, handmade crafts, pottery, jewelry, gifts, fine art, pet portraits, furniture, cocktails, beer, gourmet treats, barbecue, ice cream, and more will be available at Winterthur’s third annual Artisan Market on July 15 and 16.

Details about the event and a list of the more than 100 artists, musicians, and food vendors can be found here.

“Artisan Market has become a popular and lively event,” said Chris Strand, the Charles F. Montgomery Director and CEO at Winterthur Museum, Garden & Library. “It not only features the region’s most talented craftspeople, but it also supports our mission to educate audiences about American material culture, art, and design.”

One of the vendors will be artist Delaina Jolley, who received an Artisan Market grant. The grants encourage participation by new artists and start-up businesses.

“This will be my first time creating my own booth and showcasing my own work,” said Jolley, an admissions counselor at Delaware College of Art and Design. “I’m just excited about being around other artists, designers, and artisans. This is kind of like my first rodeo.”

She’s also grateful for the attendees who will have the opportunity to support local and regional artists, craftspeople, and businesses.

“By attending the event, you will see that there are so many artists that are out here in the world, and you have the opportunity to support us directly,” Jolley said. “You can buy work that’s been handcrafted, hand-painted, or created by someone who is from here.”

The vendors will be in several locations throughout the estate. Visitors can walk the paths of the garden and enjoy the beauty of the summer blooms and lush greenery while shopping.

One section of Artisan Market will feature “Aspiring Artisans,” which will highlight the work of emerging and up-and-coming artisans who have been in business fewer than three years.

A new feature this year is called “Be Your Own Artisan.” Visitors can learn from the experts as they work alongside select craftspeople to create their own unique pieces.

Musical Entertainment & Food

The weekend will feature live performances by The Honey Badgers, The Midnighters, Newark Ukesters, and Quixote Project. Food and beverages will be available from Restaurant Associates in the Visitor Center Café and the café in the Museum Store, and elsewhere around the estate from local food trucks and vendors, including 13th Street Cocktails, Bubbles & Brews Cocktails, Burgers by Wildwich, Lucky Shot Coffee Company, Woodside Creamery, Uncle John’s BBQ, KOI on the go, Italian Ice Bike Cart, and more.
