The power of nature as a tool to promote a healthier body, mind, and spirit is no secret. What better place than Winterthur to learn about ways to introduce wellness into your life?  Our beautiful, 60-acre garden and 1,000 acres of rolling hills, streams, meadows, and forests provide a powerful and peaceful natural setting in which to follow your individual body, mind, spirit approach toward achieving optimal wellness!

Activate your internal energy and strengthen your body and spirit as you practice slow, easy motions to get into the rhythm of nature. Led by Beth Sheehy. Bring a yoga mat, small towel, and a water bottle. Wear layers appropriate to the season. Classes are held rain or shine and will meet at the Brown Learning Center.  Thursday and Wednesday's class will move outdoors as weather permits. Drop-in rate of $10. Nonmembers are $15, cash and Venmo accepted. Nonmembers are required to purchase a general admission ticket  online or at the front desk if they wish to explore the Museum and grounds after the class.  For more information, contact Beth Sheehy.

 

Wellness Hikes

September 3 and 17, October 1 and 15, 5:00 - 6:00 pm

Winterthur is a great place to walk and run, but with 10 miles of roads and nearly 1,000 acres of scenery, it’s hard to discover each and every path on your own.  Learn how to make the most of walking on this famous country estate. Each calorie burning walk will feature a new path for you to explore. Be sure to dress for the weather and wear walking shoes. In case of inclement weather, please call our reservations office (302.888.4600) approximately 3 hours before the walk to check the status of the walk. Please note that this is a fitness walk. Walk will be at a faster pace than our walking tours. Some terrain may be hilly. Walk begins at Visitor Services patio. Members free. Included with admission.

 

Yoga Wine and Cheese in The Garden

September 22, 4:00-6:00 pm

Join us for a casual affair celebrating Wellness at Winterthur! Enjoy an invigorating yet peaceful yoga session accompanied by live music. Attendees are invited to stay and picnic along the bucolic Clenny Run. Food and wine is BYOB. Dress for the weather and bring a yoga mat. While a few tables, chairs, and blankets will be available, you are welcome to bring your own blankets and chairs for the picnic following the yoga class. Members free. Members may bring a friend. Limited capacity. Reservations recommended. Call 302.388.4600 to reserve your spot today!
