SUMMARY:Objects Up Close: Closed-Front Sacque Gown
DESCRIPTION:Piecing Together the Past: Reconstructing a Closed-Front Sacque Gown \nIn the early 20th century\, an 18th-century gown was used to upholster a period settee\, but the bodice (now in the collection) was retained. Learn how close observation\, patterning\, digital manipulation\, and collection research helped us create a full-scale reproduction of the gown as well as how the settee was created from the original in this program presented by Margaret O’Neil\, Winterthur/University of Delaware Program in Art Conservation Fellow. Registration required. Free. Note: this is a virtual lecture that begins at 10:30 am Eastern Time. \nRegister now. \n
