SUMMARY:Wine through Winterthur: Wine and Tapas Tasting
DESCRIPTION:Explore the autumn landscape\, dazzling the eye with brilliant gold\, orange\, crimson\, and russet foliage\, and taste wines paired with crafted tapas on a walk to Chandler Farm. The du Ponts acquired Chandler Farm in the last century\, when the family purchased land next to Winterthur\, at the time a private estate and home to herds of cattle and sheep. In 1958\, Henry Francis du Pont designated the red-brick\, Federal-style farmhouse as the residence for the museum’s director. When you arrive at Chandler Farm\, wine will be available for purchase to sip and savor while you listen to music by The Midnighters. \nNOTE: Due to the inclement weather forecast\, this event will take place on Sunday\, October 17\, 3:00–6:00 pm. \nRoasted bicolored beets with crumbled goat cheese and honey-dressed pine nuts dusted with ras el hanout \nPeppercorn-crusted sea scallop with Spanish farro\, chorizo\, roasted butternut squash\, edamame\, and heirloom cherry tomato with a Jerez vinegar dressing  \nPulled pork slider on a brioche roll with a cider vinegar mustard and poppy seed and green apple slaw \nBeef short rib with shredded pomegranate\, white cheddar and cauliflower puree\, and a parsley and lemon gremolata  \n  \n This is an outdoor walking event\, with uneven terrain and no transportation\, weather permitting. Walk-ins welcome! \nFriday\, October 22: Night at the Museum  \nTonight\, visit the Delaware Museum of Natural History’s “mini-museum” to see some of its hidden treasures and learn about the impressive collections housed within its walls. Take home a shell or shark tooth to start your own “museum” at home. \nReserve now.     Tickets will also be sold at the door inside Gate 2. \nSaturday\, October 23: Hocus Pocus  \nReserve now.   Tickets will also be sold at the door inside Gate 2. \nSunday\, October 24: Mary Poppins Returns  \nReserve now.  Tickets will also be sold at the door inside Gate 2. \n$40 per car.
