As First Lady, she had a portable stage built in the East Room of the White House for musical and dramatic performers from the worlds of poetry, opera, ballet, and literature. 

Kennett Symphony, May 7

Join us for a ​chamber music concert by the Kennett Symphony under the direction of Music Director Michael Hall  performing An Afternoon of a Faun by Claude Debussy, Nonet in E-flat Major, by Louise Farrenc, and solo performances from musicians of the orchestra $15; $10 Members.  Additional $10 fee for general admission, including house tours, garden, and exhibitions.
