Suggested Day Trip Ideas

  • The Most of Winterthur — a full day! For those that want to see as much as possible in one day.
    (due to small guided groups, this works best with group numbers of 25 to 30)
    10:00 a.m.     Elegant Entertaining Tour

Suggested Two-Day Itineraries

  • Chateau Country
    This itinerary will explore the du Pont legacy — one family, two hundred years, three centuries, four homes and gardens, and five generations. Follow the du Pont legacy on this two-day itinerary with visits to Hagley, Winterthur, Nemours, and Longwood Gardens. (This itinerary could also be turned into a three-day escape for those coming from a further distance).

    Day Three:
    Winterthur Museum & Country Estate
    : Visit this national treasure offering a variety of tours, changing exhibitions, annual events and programs to enjoy. Don't miss our Garden and Garden Tram tours.

    Brandywine River Museum: Exhibiting American art in a 19th century gristmill, the museum is internationally known for its unparalleled collection of illustration, still life & landscape painting plus works by three generations of Wyeths.
