Located halfway between New York City and Washington, D.C., Winterthur is located just southwest of Philadelphia.

  Museum & Garden Yuletide season (November 21, 2009—January 10, 2010): 10am-5pm daily. Extended evening hours until 8:30 pm on December 15, and 22. Closed Christmas Day.

February 1—March 8, 2010: Winterthur will close for a winter break. Winterthur Members will continue to have dawn-to-dusk access, Tuesday through Sunday, to the gardens and grounds to enjoy walking in the winter splendor. On inclement weather days, access to the grounds may be restricted for safety purposes. Weather-related closings will be announced on local radio stations. Please call 800.448.3883 for details.

March 9, 2010: Spring Season begins! Winterthur reopens at 10am.

March 9, 2010—November 19, 2010: 10 am-5pm, Tuesday-Sunday. Closed Mondays.

Last tour tickets sold at 3:15 pm daily.

From Philadelphia/New Jersey:
If traveling over the Commodore Barry Bridge:

  • Take 95 South to Wilmington; take exit 7B, which is Delaware Avenue/Rte. 52
  • At end of exit ramp, turn right at light to head NW out of town
  • As soon as possible, move into left-most lane because road splits; stay on Rte. 52 North
  • Winterthur is on Rte. 52, six miles NW of Wilmington

If traveling over the Delaware Memorial Bridge:

  • After crossing Delaware Memorial Bridge, follow 95 North to Wilmington
  • Take exit 7, which is Delaware Avenue/Rte. 52
  • Travel three blocks to Rte. 52; take a left at light
  • Stay in left-most lane to stay on Rte. 52 North
  • Winterthur is on Rte. 52, six miles NW of Wilmington

From I-476 (the Blue Route):

  • Take the Blue Route to I-95 South to Wilmington
  • Follow directions from Philadelphia.

From Baltimore/Washington:

  • Take 95 North to Wilmington; take exit 7, which is Delaware Avenue/Rte. 52
