Yuletide Jazz & Wine

 

Enjoy a glass of wine, bask in the warmth and beauty of the holiday season, and listen to the melodic sounds of live jazz December 4, 11, and 18 in the Visitor Center. The Pavilion Restaurant will be open for guests to purchase dinner, wine, beer, fruit, and cheese.  The Winterthur Bookstore will be open with a 10% discount offered after 6:00 pm. Members free.  Jazz & Wine is included with Yuletide Tour general admission ticket. For those not purchasing a Yuletide general admission ticket, tickets are $10 for entry to Jazz & Wine.  

 

December 4, 5:30–8:00 pm

Cartoon Christmas Trio

Help ring in the jazz series and welcome back Jeff Knoettner on piano, Jimmy Coleman on drums, and Rob Swanson on double bass violin. This trio presents the classic holiday jazz from cartoons, especially the music of Vince Guaraldi, composer of the "Peanuts" soundtracks. While enjoying the music, try a complimentary wine tasting by Colliers of Centreville, featuring some of their favorite reds and whites. ‘Tis the season!

The Tony Smith Trio

The Tony Smith Trio features Wilmington's own Tony Smith on trumpet, Bill Dilks on organ, Alvin Alexander on saxophone, and Wayne Morgan on drums. This group of amazing musicians perform an array of musical styles ranging from the blues to swing to bebop to "back to the roots" soul, and of course, holiday music. While here, don’t miss complimentary cocktail tastings from Stateside Vodka, offering samples of festive holiday spirits to try!

The Sharon Sable Quartet

Sharon Sable has developed a reputation as a vocal artist who creates beautiful soundscapes that are bold, yet understated—appealing to music lovers of all kinds. The quartet also features E. Shawn Qaissaunee on guitar. Together, they create memorable and engaging performances.
