Furniture scholars and master craftspeople will share new research on the cabinetmaking shops of Washington, D.C., and explore cabinetmaking and the furniture trades in the burgeoning style center of 19th-century Baltimore. Participants will have the opportunity to study examples of Mid-Atlantic furniture up close and to observe techniques of pictorial veneer and furniture paint-decorations, followed by a day of lectures.
