Fashion in Film: Period Costumes for the Screen
See the costumes online!
Now through January 7, 2007
The mystique and allure of historical garments never fail to fascinate, with their scads of luxurious fabrics, hints of seductive lace, and glimpses of coquettish frills. Such are the trappings of fashions from our past . . . for men and women alike. Marvel at a sampling of these sartorial wonders in the Winterthur Galleries as our newest exhibition features 36 magnificent costumes crafted by cinema's top designers. These stunning creations were worn by beloved movie stars Cate Blanchett, Colin Firth, and Gwyneth Paltrow in such film classics as Elizabeth, Pride and Prejudice, and Emma. Join us for this exciting show and related informative lectures. Members free.
