Our Publications
The Publications Program at Winterthur, established to share Winterthur's physical and intellectual resources with an
international audience, has earned a reputation for producing leading scholarly studies of American material culture
and the decorative arts. Continuing this level of excellence in both quality of content and packaging is a primary,
ongoing objective.
The mission of the publishing program is to communicate and cultivate Winterthur's position as a "unique center of beauty,
art, history, and learning." By producing works in a variety of formats for a variety of audiences, the publications team
seeks to reveal and reinforce Winterthur's singular position both as a preeminent research center for the study and appreciation
of American art, material culture, history, and object conservation and as a cultural attraction encompassing period rooms,
gallery exhibitions, historic structures, and a naturalistic garden. Publications range from an award-winning scholarly
journal to a colorful magazine for Members, from detailed collection catalogues to popular titles that educate and motivate
collectors, dealers, and enthusiasts.
