Moving about the Grounds
Shuttles run between the Visitor Center and museum building every 10 minutes, 9:30 am to 5:30 pm.
Garden Tram (seasonal and weather permitting)
This 20-minute narrated tour features highlights of the garden and introduces the history of Winterthur. The tour begins at the Visitor Center ends at the museum building. Stops include Azalea Woods, Magnolia Bend, and Enchanted Woods. During Point-to-Point each year, we do not offer garden trams. Tram tours of the garden will not run between August 7 and August 9, 2015. Instead, there will be guided garden walks available every 30 minutes from 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on August 7; 10: 00 am to 2:00 pm on August 8; and 10:00 am to 4:00 pm on August 9.
Walking is one of the best ways to experience Winterthur! The museum building is about a
10–15 minute walk from the Visitor Center. Paths through the garden are marked. A map is available on-site.
Wheelchair and Stroller Accessibility
Shuttles, garden trams, and most walking paths are wheelchair and stroller accessible, and strollers and wheelchairs are available for your use, free of charge.
Guests will not be allowed to use the following while on Winterthur property: skateboards, roller skates or roller blades, self-propelled scooters, and shoes with rollers built into the soles. Bicycles are allowed on the property but must be parked in the Visitor Center parking lot and secured at the bike rack. Bicycles may not be ridden anywhere else on the property.
