Tiffany: The Color of Luxury - Winterthur Museum, Garden and Library

On view September 5, 2015–January 3, 2016, in the Society of Winterthur Fellows Gallery

Tiffany: The Color of Luxury presents a fun and engaging look at the Tiffany name in American culture—from the iconic colors to the relationship between the retailer Tiffany & Co. and the artisanal Tiffany Studios. Whether considering silver baubles or Breakfast at Tiffany’s, this charming exhibit offers a glimpse into the shifting material culture of elegance and refinement.

The stories of these two companies, Tiffany & Co. and Tiffany Studios, both leaders in luxury and style icons in America, are told through fascinating objects, including: the Tiffany family tree, Tiffany & Co. jewelry and objects, pop culture objects that evoke the Tiffany name, and “Ti-phony” objects (faux Tiffany & Co. and Tiffany Studios objects made in imitation of and inspired by the style leader).

This Winterthur exhibit accompanies Tiffany Glass: Painting with Color and Light, which was organized by the Neustadt Collection of Tiffany Glass and is on view September 5, 2015 to January 3, 2016. Don't miss the exciting Tiffany lecture series.
